WILLEMSTAD - The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten uses the Curaçao carnival to draw attention to possible counterfeit money on the island. 100 guilder banknotes are especially popular with counterfeiters.
If you have serious doubts about the authenticity of a banknote, the advice is to refuse it and call the police.
