Local | By Press release November 5, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Traditionally, the first Monday of November marks Emergency Response Worker Day (BHV) in Curaçao. In honor of the occasion, the Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Kòrsou (SDKK), Curaçao’s Detention and Correctional Center, recognized the contributions of all its staff members involved in the BHV organization.

During a celebratory ceremony, certificates were awarded to SDKK personnel who successfully completed the BHV training program. Speakers at the event included Mr. Howard Boelijn, BHV coordinator at SDKK; Mr. Michael Isenia, Head of Security; Mr. Anthony Hasselmeijer, Interim Director of the prison; and Mr. Renato Vieira Pita, representing BHV Curaçao. Additionally, a quiz was held to test participants' knowledge of emergency response skills and duties.

The SDKK management expressed great satisfaction with the training program’s outcomes. “If a calamity or dangerous situation arises within the institution, we are confident that we now have certified personnel ready to act,” said one of the center’s leaders.
