WILLEMSTAD - The International Day for People with Disabilities is celebrated on December 3 in Curaçao. Various organizations will be present at Brion Plaza in Otrabanda.

It is the first time that the celebration of the day takes place in Curaçao. On the day, people with disabilities will show what they can do. There will also be a market with food, drinks and art.
Figures from the Public Health Institute Curaçao from 2017 show that 9 percent of the Curaçao population has a physical disability, but that there are many types of disabilities that are not always visible. The day should give more visibility to these people.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, December 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
