Celebrating 54 Years of Partido MAN

Local | By Correspondent February 10, 2025

WILLEMSTAD - On February 6, Partido Movementu Alsa Nashon (MAN) celebrated its 54th anniversary with the presence of the Martina family. Surrounded by MAN-PIN members and supporters, the event was blessed by Pastor Raul Betancourt and marked with great dignity.

During the celebration, the Martina family, along with political leader Giselle McWilliam, unveiled a portrait of MAN's lifetime leader and founder, Dominico "Don" Martina, who led the party for 31 years. Another unveiling took place at Hòfi Joonchi, featuring a famous portrait of MAN’s co-founders alongside a special poster. This poster was a gift from Don and his widow, Suze Martina, to the party years ago and showcases the core principles of MAN.

The Martina family took the opportunity to present each candidate on the upcoming election list with the book "Don Martina: Waardig en Rechtvaardig" (Dignified and Just). This book recounts Don's life as a father, husband, and politician but, more importantly, highlights the values he embodied—human dignity, justice, equality, and solidarity. These principles were the guiding thread throughout his life.

Political leader Giselle McWilliam centered the celebration on MAN’s lifetime leader, its founders, and its principles. She also initiated the creation of a historical gallery dedicated to MAN’s legacy.

The MAN-PIN family concluded the celebration in a joyful and warm atmosphere, toasting to the party’s future and receiving a final blessing.
