WILLEMSTAD – Leaders of the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS) held an introductory meeting on Wednesday with the president of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), Olaf Sleijpen, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between the two central banks.

The meeting brought together CBCS President Richard Doornbosch and Julian Lopez Ramirez, acting chairman of the Supervisory Board of the CBCS, with Sleijpen, who heads the Dutch central bank.

According to the CBCS, the discussion emphasized the importance of the constructive collaboration between the institutions. The partnership between the two central banks plays a role in financial supervision, monetary policy coordination and the stability of the financial systems in Curaçao and Sint Maarten.

Sleijpen expressed strong appreciation for the existing cooperation between DNB and CBCS and indicated that he intends to visit the CBCS later this year.

The meeting served as an introduction between the leadership teams and reaffirmed the commitment of both institutions to maintaining close ties within the Kingdom of the Netherlands’ financial oversight framework.

The CBCS is responsible for monetary policy and financial supervision in Curaçao and Sint Maarten, while De Nederlandsche Bank oversees the financial system in the Netherlands and plays a broader role in European financial regulation.
