Casha: Small Accommodations experience increased occupancy in the last months of the year

Local | By Correspondent December 14, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - Nearly 7.5 out of ten small accommodations in Curaçao were occupied in the month of November, as reported by Casha, the advocacy group for small entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.

The association comprises almost a hundred members, of which 53 operate vacation accommodations. Occupancy figures have been provided this month by nearly two-thirds of them.

Casha views these figures as a relief, indicating that bookings are going well and flowing in smoothly during these final months. December, January, and February appear promising, according to Casha.

The positive figures are, in part, attributed to increased airlift from Europe, according to the association. Other sectors within Casha, including car rental agencies and diving schools, are also observing the same positive trend.

Curaçao is once again attracting more "feel-it-yourself" tourists. The overall occupancy rates for divers stand at 44 percent, and for car rentals, it's 70 percent.
