WILLEMSTAD - The Caribbean Militia has again 25 training places available for Elementary Military Training for the year 2020. The training is required to be appointed as a soldier for Aruba or Curaçao, the Arumil and the Curmil.

After completing the training, it is possible for the militiamen to move on to various (senior) positions. Such as group commander, waiting commander, instructor at the training department, General Military Nurse, sports instructor, or shooting and arrest techniques instructor.

The country appointment is up to 30 years, but there are opportunities to pursue a career in Defense afterward in the Netherlands.

Information and selection days are planned for both countries. Registration for the course is possible afterward. It will start this year on 24 August 2020. The military training at CARMIL lasts one year. After completing the training, soldiers are appointed in the country where they are registered.

Information and selection day in Aruba is on June 2, 4, 9 and 11 at the Navy Barracks Savaneta. In Curaçao the session is on May 28 at the Navy Barracks Suffisant.
