WILLEMSTAD - A Caribbean Currency will be introduced in 2021. Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha confirms this.

Since 2010 there have been talks of a Caribbean guilder to replace the current florin, but the plan was never realized. Last year it appeared that the Antillean guilders' money supply was running out slowly.

Gijsbertha therefore argues that in 2021 it is really necessary to switch to the Caribbean Guilder for both Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
