WILLEMSTAD - The psychiatric institution Capriles Clinic will receive an additional 6.8 million guilders from the government. Half of this amount will be transferred this year, and the other half next year. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) on Thursday.
The funds are intended to adjust the hospital bed rates and to cover expenses such as staff salary indexing.
The ministry has informed the employees that the Council of Ministers approved the 6.8 million guilder advance on Wednesday. This decision followed an investigation into bed rates by the Regulatory Authority of Curaçao.
A crucial condition for receiving these millions is the payout of salary indexing to the staff. This stipulation is also included in the new collective labor agreement, which was signed by the healthcare union's board on Friday morning.
