WILLEMSTAD - Fuikdag, a much-anticipated annual event, unfolded peacefully with an estimated 150 to 200 boats gracing the waters of Fuik Bay, a figure on par with the previous year, as reported by the Coast Guard.
The inspection process proceeded without hitches, and at 5:00 PM, all participating boats adhered to the regulations by silencing their music. The Coast Guard provided insights, stating, "Only eight boats were instructed to turn back due to incomplete documentation, and two others received citations."
Despite the overall serene ambiance, a few minor incidents occurred. The Coast Guard elaborated, "There were isolated instances of engine trouble and an overturned boat," all of which were promptly addressed.
In addition to the maritime activities, there were several cases of vehicles being towed away due to unsafe parking conditions arising from the Fuikdag festivities.
Fuikdag, a beloved annual tradition, brings together boats and water scooters for a joyous celebration in the picturesque Fuik Bay.
