Local | By Correspondent October 17, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - On Wednesday, the Central Committee of the Curaçao Parliament began its final budget review session, with several members calling for a renewed approach.

Members of Parliament expressed frustration with the current process, urging for fundamental changes in the way the budget is handled. MPs Rennox Calmes (TPK), Ana-Maria Pauletta (PAR), and Giselle Mc William (MAN) criticized the current procedure, calling it dull and unclear, leading to a lack of public engagement in the budgetary discussions.

They emphasized the need for greater transparency and community involvement in the budget process, aiming to make it more accessible and understandable to the general population.
