WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH) has started an investigation into the damage caused to Landhuis Hato and the graves on the site. The holding company does this following a report from the Curaçao Archeology Working Group.
CAH states in a press release that measures are being taken and the parties involved will repair the damage. In addition, the organization says that it regrets the situation and wants to reassure people through the press release that it is being worked on.
Minister Charles Cooper of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP) previously stated in an official letter that the holding had to stop the work and repair the damage to the site. According to the Curaçao Archeology Working Group (WAC), serious damage has been caused to the graves by CAH. In addition, part of the wall around the cemetery and a pillar would have been removed.
