WILLEMSTAD – The Council of Ministers has approved several decisions affecting sports and education policy, following its meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
One of the key decisions concerns the management of the sports field in Tera Cora. The Council agreed to a management agreement between the government of Curaçao and the Didi Deeds Foundation for the operation of the sports facility. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS) has been authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the country. A corresponding national decree will also be submitted to the Governor for formal approval.
In the field of education oversight, the Council approved a plan of approach for a learning and training program aimed at newly appointed education inspectors. The project, titled “Leertraject startende onderwijsinspecteurs,” will run from February through July 2026 and is intended to strengthen professional capacity within the education inspection framework.
The decisions form part of broader efforts to professionalize management in both community sports infrastructure and educational supervision, with an emphasis on structured governance and capacity building.
