Burst Water Pipe Causes Major Flooding at Corendon Mangrove Hotel

WILLEMSTAD – A burst water pipe caused significant damage Monday evening at the Corendon Mangrove Hotel, according to a spokesperson for the resort.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., resulting in severe flooding on the first and second floors, as well as the ground floor, where the hotel’s front office is located. Emergency services, including the fire department, police, and security personnel, responded swiftly to bring the situation under control.

As a precaution, all hotel guests were evacuated and temporarily relocated to Corendon The Rif, a nearby property. One woman on the fourth floor reportedly panicked during the evacuation and was treated on-site by ambulance staff.

By 9:30 p.m., the situation was fully under control. While no injuries were reported, the hotel sustained substantial water damage.

“Our technical teams and cleaning staff are working through the night to repair the damage,” the spokesperson said.

The hotel has not yet announced when full operations will resume.
