WILLEMSTAD - The past two weeks have seen a significant increase in the number of burglaries in downtown Punda in Willemstad. This is according to Carine Ghazzi, director of the Downtown Management Organization (DMO).

The break-ins were all committed in the early morning. Two shops were robbed again last weekend, with much damage. Ghazzi also notices more and more addicts hanging out in Punda.

DMO will now hire additional security for the night hours.
