WILLEMSTAD - Buma/Stemra is in discussion with the Minister Plenipotentiary Carlson Manuel about music rights in Curaçao.
Buma/stemra is the Dutch representative of musicians and publishers. The Curaçao musicians' association Amak has requested the meeting to discuss the options of royalties in Curaçao. No royalties are paid at this time. This means that radio and television stations can use local music without having to pay for it.
Manuel already sat down with Buma/Stemra in February and has now requested a follow-up meeting.
