WILLEMSTAD – According to a price comparison conducted by the Fundashon pa Konsumidó (Curaçao’s Consumer Association) and the Ministry of Economic Development, Bon Bini Supermarket offers the most affordable Christmas products on the island. Of the 128 items surveyed, Bon Bini had the lowest prices on 30 of them.
The price comparison took place between December 4 and 10 across fifteen supermarkets in Curaçao, focusing on typical Christmas items such as ham, turkey, rum, whiskey, soft drinks, and Christmas bread. Mangusa Hypermarket ranked second with 24 products priced lower, followed by Mangusa Supermarket in Rio Canario, which had 22 affordable items.
Bon Bini Supermarket was also found to have the best stock of Christmas products, with 112 out of the 128 items available. Mangusa Hypermarket followed with 102 products, while Mangusa Supermarket had 96.
Significant price differences were observed, particularly with alcoholic beverages and other holiday goods. Some price differences reached as high as 49 guilders. Fundashon pa Konsumidó and the Ministry of Economic Development urge consumers to shop responsibly and thoughtfully during the holiday season.
