WILLEMSTAD - Every year, 30 golfers from Blue Bay Golf and 30 from Curaçao Golf and Squash Club in Emmastad compete in the prestigious "Governors Cup." This past Saturday, November 28, the "Fourball" tournament was held on the golf course in Emmastad, where pairs of two players from both clubs battled it out for the best score. A total of 15 points were distributed among the 15 teams. CG&SC excelled by claiming 8 out of the 15 points, while Blue Bay received the remaining 7 points.
The tournament moved to Blue Bay's golf course on Sunday for 30 individual matches, equating to 30 available points. In their home turf, Blue Bay demonstrated convincing form by winning 18 out of the 30 matches. This resulted in a final score of 25 to 20 points in favor of Blue Bay, securing their third consecutive victory in the Governors Cup.
The event was once again marked by sporting success, evident in the satisfied faces of players and organizers from both clubs. In addition to the athletic performances, the Governors Cup proved to be a great opportunity for social interaction, which players enjoyed to the fullest on both Saturday and Sunday.
