Bándabou Carnival Season 2025–2026 to Open on October 5 in Barber

 

WILLEMSTAD – The Task Force Karnaval Bándabou has proudly announced that the official opening of the Bándabou Carnival 2025–2026 season will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until midnight in Barber (Kaminda Prospero Rojer). The celebration will coincide with the annual Día di Bándabou festivities.

According to the organizers, the event aims to strengthen the carnival experience, foster unity among local organizations, and create a sustainable platform for cultural and social development in Curaçao, particularly in Bándabou. The collaboration emphasizes efficiency, inclusion, and continuity, reflecting a shared commitment to raising community participation and empowerment.

The opening program promises a vibrant mix of performances and celebrations. Visitors can look forward to a spectacular dance show by Grupo di Baile D’Art, the energy of the Battle of Brass Bands, an opening performance by the musical group One Flavaz, and a special appearance by the reigning Tumba Queen 2025.

Bándabou Carnival is a powerful force that unites our people. It motivates us to continue cherishing and defending our culture,” the Task Force said in its announcement. “With this opening celebration, we want to show that together we can build a strong future.”

The Task Force invites the entire island to come to Barber to experience this grand celebration, enjoy the official launch of the Carnival season, and at the same time honor Día di Bándabou. All contributions and participation, the organization emphasized, will help it continue its mission of promoting and organizing a high-quality carnival that reflects and strengthens the cultural identity of Bándabou.
