WILLEMSTAD - A two-month-old baby died yesterday after an emergency at a daycare center. Around 12:00 noon, the Central Police received an urgent call about the emergency, prompting an ambulance to be immediately dispatched to the location. Despite the swift response and efforts from both the daycare center staff and medical responders, the baby did not survive.
According to preliminary information, a caregiver in the baby room was busy when she suddenly noticed the baby's color changing. The daycare center staff immediately took action by starting resuscitation while waiting for the ambulance. Upon arrival, the ambulance personnel took over resuscitation and urgently transported the baby, accompanied by the parents, to the emergency department of the Curaçao Medical Center.
Despite all efforts, the baby passed away at the hospital. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the exact circumstances of this tragic incident.
