Authorities Conduct Raids in Human Trafficking Investigation

WILLEMSTAD – The Division of Organized Crime conducted two house searches on Monday as part of an investigation into human trafficking, human smuggling, and the export of individuals. The searches took place at Kaya Alonso de Ojeda and Sta. Rosaweg. During the raid at Kaya Alonso de Ojeda, a 56-year-old woman from Colombia and her 20-year-old daughter, a Curaçao native, were arrested. This was reported by the Curaçao Police Force. 

During the searches, several significant items were seized, which are considered crucial for the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not disclosed details regarding the specific items confiscated. The suspects were presented before a public prosecutor, who decided to keep them in custody pending further investigation. 

The investigation is focused on serious crimes, including human trafficking, and authorities continue to gather evidence. It remains unclear how many individuals are involved in the case. The Division of Organized Crime is actively working to fully map out the situation.
