WILLEMSTAD – The Economic Affairs Inspection (MEO), along with GMN (Enforcement), SBAB, and KPC (Barber District Team), conducted an inspection on Playa Daaibooi on Sunday, targeting individuals and businesses engaged in commercial activities on the beach.
The focus of the inspection was to ensure compliance with the necessary permits for commercial operations. “MEO aims to stimulate economic growth, but emphasizes that activities should only take place with the proper permits, such as a location permit or a hospitality license. Violations create unfair competition and undermine the enforcement of laws and regulations,” said spokesperson Ronny Cornelis.
The inspection revealed that four commercial businesses were operating on the beach, of which three were found to be without the required permits. These included a business without a location permit, a restaurant operating without a license, and another business failing to meet the conditions. However, the Fisheries Cooperative and Daaibooi Beach Restaurant N.V. were found to have the necessary permits in place.
MEO highlighted the importance of conducting regular inspections due to the growing number of commercial activities on Playa Daaibooi. The agency is committed to ensuring fair competition and preventing illegal activities.
