WILLEMSTAD - The former notary office Kleinmoedig will go under the hammer next month. The auction will commence with a minimum bid price slightly over 1.1 million guilders for the building and the property located on Caracasbaaiweg.
Notary office Fung-A-Loi & Samandar is responsible for organizing and conducting the auction under the guidance of notary Samandar.
The Kleinmoedig building on Caracasbaaiweg is situated on a plot of 1370m2. Interested parties will have the opportunity to submit bids for the purchase of the building up to two weeks before the auction date.
Kleinmoedig was convicted on September 10, 2021, for misappropriating funds destined for others as a notary, including using it to purchase an expensive grand piano.
In this way, 1.4 million guilders were embezzled. The notary was sentenced to an unconditional prison term of 18 months and was prohibited from holding the office for a period of five years.
Following this decision, in 2022, the Public Prosecution Service requested the expropriation of the former notary's property for an amount of 1.5 million guilders.
