At the end of this year 216 million for Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent October 13, 2022

THE HAGUE - At the end of the year, according to the Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT) college, there will still be around 216 million guilders for Curaçao in liquidity support in the state treasury. State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen of Kingdom Relations reports this to the Dutch Lower House. For Aruba this will be 19 million Florin. Both Aruba and Curaçao did not request any liquidity support for the coming year.

Van Huffelen says that the amount for Aruba can still change depending on the additional information that is yet to come. "To arrive at decision-making about the determination of the maximum financing deficit for Aruba, further CFT advice is needed," said the State Secretary.

The minister says that the amount is determined on the basis of conditions that the countries must meet and that they have been drawn up by the Kingdom Council of Ministers (RMR). Among other things, the progress of the country is taken into account.

Sint Maarten will receive liquidity support of ten million guilders in the last quarter of 2022. This is calculated after advice from the CFT. The fourteen million liquidity support that the island would receive for the third quarter is also awarded. The island has presented a CFT advice that shows that it meets the RMR condition for the interpretation of the salary cut.
