THE HAGUE - For the first time, the Netherlands, along with the governments of Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten, has published an implementation report on the progress of their Country Packages. Until now, the Temporary Working Organization (a part of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations) prepared the report.
Notably, Curaçao lags behind on many aspects more frequently than Aruba. Sint Maarten also has considerably fewer areas of concern. For instance, there is no progress on the tax system reform plan in Curaçao. The Pisas government wishes to establish "effective working agreements" first and, while awaiting these, provides only limited information to the Temporary Working Organization, which therefore cannot fulfill its monitoring responsibilities.
