WILLEMSTAD, THE HAGUE - Residents of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten with Dutch nationality will have the opportunity to vote in the 2024 European Parliament elections. The Dutch population will cast their votes for a new parliament on June 6 of this year.
Only adults who are 18 years or older on June 6 are eligible to vote. The Caribbean Netherlands National Office reports that residents of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten, the three Caribbean countries within the Kingdom, are required to register in advance. This can be done via the website www.stemmenvanuithetbuitenland.nl. Registration must be completed by April 25. By the end of May, voters will receive confirmation if their registration is successful.
To date, 2,577 residents of the islands have registered for the European Parliament elections. Worldwide, more than 97,000 Dutch citizens residing abroad will cast their votes for this election in June.
Polling stations will be opened in Oranjestad (Aruba), Willemstad (Curaçao), and Philipsburg (Sint Maarten). For more information about registration and voting, voters can contact the Voters Abroad Team of the municipality of The Hague, both by phone and through the website.
