WILLEMSTAD - On Saturday morning, Freeport Jewelers in Punda became the target of a brazen armed robbery. According to initial reports, two men on a scooter stormed into the store shortly after it opened, smashing display cases with sharp objects and making off with several pieces of jewelry.
The assailants quickly grabbed their loot and fled the scene on the scooter. The shocking incident has left the staff of Freeport Jewelers visibly shaken, though there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The police, along with the specialized Atrako (Robbery) Team, have launched an investigation into the robbery. The Tactical Forensic Team (TFO) also arrived on the scene to gather evidence as part of their ongoing inquiry.
At this time, the police have yet to officially confirm the details of the robbery or provide information on the suspects. Authorities are reviewing security footage.
