WILLEMSTAD - The awareness campaign Arma ta Karma has reached more than 1,100 young people and is being hailed as a success by the Ministry of Justice. The campaign aims to educate youths about the risks and consequences of illegal firearm possession and use.

During its initial phase, the campaign team visited nine high schools and the Juvenile Justice Center of Curaçao (formerly GOG). The team, which included well-known influencers, members of the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), the Public Prosecution Service (OM), and Juvenile Justice staff, delivered the message in an engaging and accessible manner. The campaign received ratings ranging from seven to ten from participating youths.

One of the standout elements was the release of a music video by rapper Dongo, which has garnered over 100,000 views. Additionally, the campaign expanded its reach through platforms like Extra Digital, podcasts from the Ministry of Justice and Miss JD, and TV Direct.

Arma ta Karma is an initiative by the Action Center for Tackling Organized Crime in Curaçao (ACOC), a division of the Ministry of Justice. ACOC emphasized that this campaign is a vital part of the broader fight against the criminal activities that undermine the community.
