WILLEMSTAD – Archbishop Charles Jason Gordon has been appointed as the Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Willemstad in Curaçao. The announcement was made in a release from the Antilles Episcopal Conference (AEC) Secretariat yesterday.
According to the release, the appointment of Archbishop Gordon as Apostolic Administrator was made by the Pope. This position is temporarily assigned to ensure the proper administration and order of the diocese while awaiting the appointment of a permanent bishop.

Archbishop Gordon continues in his role as president of the Antilles Episcopal Conference and remains the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Port of Spain, which includes the Suffragan Diocese of Willemstad. The Ecclesiastical Province of Port of Spain also encompasses the Suffragan Dioceses of Georgetown, Guyana; Bridgetown, Barbados; and Paramaribo, Suriname.
This new appointment underscores the continued leadership and responsibility of Archbishop Gordon in the region, ensuring stability and guidance within the Catholic Church in Curaçao until a new permanent bishop is named.
