WILLEMSTAD – Following the recent island-wide power outage, Aqualectra held a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Gilmar ‘Pik’ Pisas (MFK), Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof (MFK), and representatives from the business and tourism sectors.

The discussions focused on identifying the causes of the blackout and developing a joint action plan to strengthen the reliability of Curaçao’s energy supply. Participants also explored ways to improve cooperation and preparedness in the event of future disruptions.

Those present described the meeting as productive, with stakeholders openly sharing their views and reaching agreement on the need for monthly follow-up sessions. The ultimate goal is to prevent future blackouts and enhance the island’s resilience against crises.
