WILLEMSTAD - Aqualectra has started expanding the project for smart water and electricity meters. The utility company announced this via social media. Mundo Nobo, Wishi and Marchena will be fitted with smart meters in the next two months.
The installation started on Monday and is expected to last until March 2. A team of installers will connect the meters house by house. In addition, repairs will be carried out if necessary.
The first Aqualectra smart meters were taken into use in November in the Zapateer district. With the new network, the consumer can better manage the consumption of water and electricity, the meters are digital and easier to read. In addition, the new meters will ensure less leakage.
The installation of the smart meters on the entire island is expected to take three years.
