WILLEMSTAD - The appeal case against George Jamaloodin will be treated on Thursday January 9. The former Curaçao minister was sentenced in August to 28 years in prison.

The court then considered it proven that Jamaloodin ordered the murder of the Member of Parliament and popular political leader Helmin Wiels. Jamaloodin insists on being innocent and has therefore appealed his case.

His brother Robbie dos Santos was also behind bars as a suspect in the case. He has been released pending the investigation.
