WILLEMSTAD - On Wednesday, the Algemeen Pensioenfonds van Curaçao (APC) welcomed approximately 800 government employees to its annual Information Day at the Rif Corendon Hotel. The participants, all of whom have a pension with APC or are already retired, were given the opportunity to be updated on the latest developments and current status of their pension fund. Additionally, they had the chance to meet APC employees, managers, and directors in person.

Positive Experience for Attendees

The attendees found the Information Day to be both enjoyable and informative. They were able to easily access clear information and get answers to their questions. At the information market, set up in the main hall, many participants also met familiar faces and colleagues, making the day a valuable local networking opportunity.

Program and Sessions

The day was divided into two identical sessions: a morning session from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and an afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This allowed ample time for participants to engage in a relaxed atmosphere and delve into the information and activities offered.

Various APC departments presented their work at stands in the information market, enabling participants to speak directly with staff members. Additionally, four breakout sessions were held per time slot, where attendees could choose from seven presentations on key topics:

Annual Figures: Overview of APC's results and investment performance.

Indexation: Explanation of how pensions are indexed and the steps APC takes in this process.

Pension Statement: Guidance on how to interpret pension statements.

Investment Strategy: Insights into APC’s investments, including policy and legal frameworks.

Preparing for Retirement: Advice and guidelines for those nearing retirement.

Check & Balances: How APC is structured to ensure reliable and transparent results.

Waterfort Plaza Project: A status update on this project and its implications for the future.

Engagement and Transparency

The Information Day highlighted APC's commitment to transparency and engagement with its participants. The fund aims to not only inform but also give participants a behind-the-scenes look at its operations. Through one-on-one conversations, participants were able to learn more about the fund and have their questions answered directly.

APC reflected on a successful day and thanked all participants for their presence and involvement. The fund remains committed to strengthening the pension landscape in Curaçao and looks forward to future opportunities for participants to learn more about their pension fund.
