WILLEMSTAD – Veteran politician Anthony Godett has officially announced his retirement from active politics after nearly four decades of public service. Godett confirmed that he will no longer appear on any political list in future elections.
In a statement, the former leader said he has contributed as much as he could throughout his political career and now feels content with his accomplishments. As part of his decision, Godett will also withdraw from the Partido KEM.
“I have done everything within my power to contribute to the country and the community,” Godett stated. “I am satisfied with my career and it is time to step back.”
Godett has been a prominent figure in Curaçaoan politics for 38 years, playing a key role in various political movements and public debates. His departure marks the end of an era for his supporters and the political landscape of the island.
He reiterated that in the upcoming elections, his name will not appear on any political list, underscoring his complete retirement from the political arena.
