Acoya Resort hosts gathering, new board elected
WILLEMSTAD - On January 30th, the Annual General Meeting of the Consular Corps of Curaçao convened at the Acoya Resort, bringing together esteemed members to discuss key matters. A significant highlight of the meeting was the election of a new board to lead the corps through the upcoming year.
The newly elected board comprises Mr. Ralph Obersi, Honorary Consul of Mexico, who will serve as the Dean. Mr. Antony Brosnan, Consular officer at the Consulate General of the USA, assumes the role of Vice-Dean. Mrs. Lisanne Asjes, Honorary Consul of Sweden, takes on the responsibilities of Secretary. Mr. Kurt Jackson, Honorary Consul of Jamaica, has been appointed as Treasurer, and Mrs. Kathryn Pruneti, Honorary Consul of Italy, joins as a Member.
After the elections, Mr. Ralph Obersi, the newly appointed Dean, expressed gratitude to the outgoing board and all attending members for their vote of confidence and trust. He acknowledged the importance of continuity and thanked the previous leadership for their dedication.
During his address, the new Dean outlined the program for the upcoming year, highlighting the board's commitment to openness and willingness to consider constructive suggestions from the consular corps. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and encouraged active participation in planned events and meetings by all members.
The Annual General Meeting provided a platform for the consular corps to set the agenda for the year ahead, fostering unity and collaboration among the diplomatic representatives in Curaçao.
