Animal welfare project launches in Otrobanda neighborhood

WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) is collaborating with community police officers and representatives of active animal welfare volunteer organizations to initiate a project in the Otrobanda neighborhood starting Thursday, November 14, 2024. 

The primary goal of this initiative is to provide education on the identification and registration of pets and to raise awareness about the Animal Welfare Act and the Dangerous Dogs Act. The program will also emphasize the importance of pet sterilization. 

A mobile information desk will be set up at the GMN Ministry's headquarters in Colon, located at Roodeweg 49, and will be available for the next two weeks. The operating hours are as follows: 

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM 

Friday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
