WILLEMSTAD - On Thursday, an American tourist tragically drowned at Bapor Kibra, according to police reports.
The man went swimming around noon at a hotel along Dr. M.L. King Boulevard and subsequently encountered difficulties. Bystanders pulled him from the water and attempted to revive him, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
The police doctor who arrived on the scene confirmed the death of the 70-year-old American man, who had been a passenger on a cruise ship visiting Curaçao.
