PHILIPSBURG - State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen (D66) will visit Sint Maarten from Wednesday to Saturday to participate in the four-country talks. This is reported by the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland.
The administrative consultation between the Netherlands and the Prime Ministers of Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten will take place on January 12 and 13. Four topics will be discussed during the meeting. The reform of the public sector on the three islands, the discussion of a dispute settlement for the Kingdom, the resolution of the democratic deficit and the accessibility of the European elections. In addition, the organization of the next Kingdom Conference is also discussed.
At the four-country consultations in June 2022, the four countries agreed to come up with a proposal on implementing the necessary reforms in the areas of the rule of law, public finances and the economy.
The four-country consultations are intended to make agreements about the further development of cooperation in the kingdom.
