WILLEMSTAD - Former minister and member of the PAR party Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé goes back into politics. Alcalá-Wallé is said to have been approached by a new political movement.
The former Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport was prosecuted in 2020 for violation of the Screening Act with regard to additional positions. Alcalá-Wallé was not punished, because the judge considered that she did not intend to get benefit from this. The politician broke with the PAR party in 2020 and has not been active in politics since then.
Alcalá-Wallé says she has listened to the wishes of the people and decided to become politically active again. She does not want to announce which new movement she is going to join.
