WILLEMSTAD - Starting Wednesday, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao will be affected by Sahara dust. Satellite images reveal that a dust cloud will be moving over the region in the coming days.
The Caribbean Weather Center forecasts poor visibility and air quality in the coming days. The Sahara dust can cause respiratory issues or exacerbate allergies in sensitive individuals.
Radar images show a new cloud of Sahara dust on its way from Africa to the Caribbean. Additionally, a tropical wave has been moving westward since Wednesday morning, away from the region, according to the Meteorological Department of Curaçao. Over the next 24 hours, cloud cover is expected to increase with a chance of localized showers.
