WILLEMSTAD - Vreugdenhil is the cheapest in meat and cold cuts. For vegetables, Mangusa at Rio Canario is the cheapest, and for fruit, clients are better off at Esperamos.

The Fundashon Pa Konsumidó (consumers association) reports this based on an analysis in January of 93 products at 22 supermarkets. Mangusa Hypermarket had most of the products in stock.

The prices of fresh products differ considerably within the supermarkets: for a kilo of sirloin steak costumers pay 30 guilders at Supermarket 2000, while at Mangusa it only costs 15 guilders.

The price of broccoli also differs considerably, at some supermarkets a kilo costs almost 17 guilders, while at Esperamos it costs less than 6 guilders.
