WILLEMSTAD - Dick Advocaat has decided not to accept the offer to become the new head coach of Curaçao's national soccer team. The experienced 76-year-old coach has opted not to embark on this adventure at the moment due to ongoing organizational uncertainties. The Curaçao Soccer Federation, Federashon Futbòl Kòrsou, has been engaged in intensive discussions with Advocaat in recent weeks.
Although Advocaat initially expressed interest in the position of Curaçao's national team coach and held multiple discussions, he has chosen not to start in the short term.
Advocaat explained to Voetbal International: "There are still too many issues within the organization that need to be thoroughly resolved before I am willing to embark on this adventure."
He added, "While I am positive about the sporting project and have had some constructive talks, it is simply not feasible at this moment. Perhaps it can become a concrete possibility in the future, but for now, it is no longer a realistic option for me."
