WILLEMSTAD - Last Wednesday, ADC N.V. celebrated the achievement of reaching the highest point of its new building under construction. The groundbreaking of the new laboratory took place at the end of November 2022, and the construction work started in full swing in January 2023. Now, the maximum height has been reached. This memorable achievement was celebrated in the form of a 'Spantenbier' event.
Director Ms. Liane Cova, along with the ADC Board of Directors, Minister C. Cooper, Minister J. Silvania, construction company workers, and ADC employees, climbed to the maximum height of the building. It was a special moment where ADC Director Ms. Liane Cova addressed all stakeholders, ADC workers, and construction workers to thank them for their tremendous effort and dedication, which collectively achieved the 'top' of the construction.

The Minister of Traffic, Transportation, and Urban Planning, Mr. Charles Cooper, expressed his satisfaction with the new building's construction, viewing it as a "financial injection into our economy that provides job opportunities and offers hope for a much more modern, efficient, and closer ADC to our hospital." Additionally, the Minister of Health, Environment & Nature, Mr. Javier Silvania, recognized the immense value that ADC adds to the health of Curaçao. "This new building will not only provide a better working environment for ADC employees but also play a crucial role in promoting scientific research, innovation, and healthcare on our island."
Together with ADC employees, a toast was made to wish all those involved in the construction project success so that this project, which holds great value for Otrobanda, can be successfully completed.
The new ADC building in Otrobanda will be a state-of-the-art laboratory that continues to offer all types of specializations within a modern concept. This will become the main building of ADC, bringing all disciplines together under one roof. It is a three-story building that will encompass all ADC activities on a 5,500 square meter lot. All departments will eventually move to this new building, including those currently housed in the Vredenberg building, which has been in use since 1960.
Our national laboratory complies with the highest and strictest standards in medical analysis. ADC is the only laboratory in our country that offers a wide range of specializations. Therefore, we are now developing an even more sophisticated laboratory to continue providing the best service and quality in medical and water diagnostics to the people of Curaçao and the region. This creates a solid foundation for facing future health challenges and contributing to the well-being of our community.
With the arrival of ADC's new building in Otrobanda, new opportunities are created. The building is strategically located in the heart of healthcare, close to the Ministry of GMN and next to our hospital. This strategic location will strengthen collaboration and communication between different health services. This will boost the development of the Otrobanda and Colon area into a health service center for our people and the region.
