ABB tax will not be introduced

WILLEMSTAD - The new government of MFK and PNP will not introduce the new ABB tax, which stands for general spending tax. Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha has long announced the new tax, but it has never been introduced.

According to the coalition agreement signed on Friday, the new government wants to apply a uniform OB (sales tax) rate of 7 percent. That is now 6 percent. But the government wants to remove existing links in the OB tariff, so there is no question of an increase. The parties further strive to make the Curaçao tax system simpler.
