A Glimpse into Curaçao's Mindset

Local | By Bonnie Benesh April 3, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The Think To Do Institute (T2DI) of Curaçao has recently concluded an interesting survey that looks into the mindsets of our people. Following up on a similar study from 2020, this survey, conducted from December 2022 to October 2023, involved 653 participants. It aimed to gain insights into what drives our resilience and how we, as a community, envision our goals and interact with others.

What Did We Discover?

The research investigates how people approach life’s challenges and opportunities. The survey suggests that the way we think profoundly affects how satisfied we feel with our lives. People with a growth and abundance mindset generally feel happier and more fulfilled. This positive outlook enables them to approach life with a sense of hope, resilience, and a willingness to engage in continuous learning and personal development.

The Real-World Impact

These findings have real implications for all of us in Curaçao.

For Individuals: Understanding that a growth and abundant mindset can lead to a more satisfied life is empowering. It's a reminder that our attitudes and perspectives play a crucial role in our overall happiness.

For Our Community: A community that values growth and abundance mindsets is better equipped to handle adversities, whether economic, social, or environmental. Therefore making it more adaptable and resilient.

For Policymakers and Educators: These insights can help shape policies and educational programs that foster resilience and a positive outlook among citizens.

Final Thoughts

The T2DI survey sheds light on the power of mindset in shaping our lives. It's a call to action for each of us to nurture a positive, growth-oriented mindset. As we embrace this approach, we're not just improving our own lives but also contributing to a stronger, more resilient Curaçao.
