WILLEMSTAD - In 2022, a total of 992 event permits were granted out of the 1003 applications received, as announced by Minister Shalten Hato of Justice.
The minister highlighted the noticeable increase in the number of event applications. Out of the 992 permits issued, 345 were allocated for cultural and social events. Particularly, the number of permits peaked in December, with a significant majority being for events in the cultural and social sectors. During that month, an impressive 200 permits were approved for various events.
The government's objective is to fully digitize the entire permit process, starting from the moment an application is submitted to the Special Laws Unit (Unit Bijzondere Wetten - UBW), up to the point of decision-making on the application. Recently, Hato approved the event management agreement, paving the way for the digitalization of the permit process.
The government expresses satisfaction with the introduction of this system, which is expected to stimulate economic growth by streamlining the permit process for events.
