THE HAGUE – Approximately 90% of the personnel at the Coast Guard come from the region, Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans confirmed in response to questions from the Dutch Parliament about the Coast Guard's annual plan. "Recruitment takes place locally," stated the minister.
The Coast Guard is currently undergoing a transition, which includes a significant increase in staffing to meet its mission of providing 24/7 information-driven police operations. This growth not only enhances operational capabilities but also opens up opportunities for career advancement within the organization. The Coast Guard aims to recruit as much personnel as possible from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, further strengthening its local workforce.
