WILLEMSTAD - 85 percent of teachers appear to have burnout complaints. This is the result of research by the DOEN Education Association. 200 teachers participated in the study.
Eight out of ten teachers indicate that they will leave education if another opportunity arises on the labor market. More than sixty percent are physically and mentally tired. “These results worry us so much that we can't stand by and watch,” said DOEN.
The union has an emergency meeting on Monday with the Minister of Education Sithree "Cey" van Heydoorn and a Parliamentary Committee to find a solution to this serious problem.
