67 Dogs Microchipped in Koraal Specht as Part of Government Animal Welfare Project

WILLEMSTAD As part of the government's ongoing “Animal Welfare” project, a total of 67 dogs were microchipped over the weekend in the Koraal Specht neighborhood. Residents from Koraal Specht and surrounding areas gathered at the parking lot of Schotborg School to have their pets chipped and registered.

The Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature has announced a new opportunity for those who missed the event. On Saturday, May 10, pet owners can have their dogs chipped at the ADC parking lot in Vredenberg.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who brought their pets and emphasized the importance of seizing this opportunity. For Koraal Specht residents who were unable to transport their pets, there is no need to worry: from Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9, project staff will be active in the neighborhood to provide information and chip dogs on-site.

Residents must make an appointment in advance by contacting the Animal Welfare Inspector via WhatsApp at 667 0163.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote responsible pet ownership, enhance animal welfare, and reduce the number of stray animals on the island.
