WILLEMSTAD - In Curaçao and Aruba, a total of 39 candidates have started the Initial Military Training (EMV) for Caribbean soldiers. Interest in the Caribbean Military is high, with more than three hundred men and women from the islands signing up over the past year.
After a rigorous selection process earlier this year, the most suitable candidates were chosen to participate in the training. The current group consists of 11 candidates from Aruba and 28 from Curaçao, including 3 women and 36 men.
During the nine-month training, candidates will learn basic military skills, how to handle military weapons, and receive training in surveillance and security. According to the Ministry of Defense, the program not only offers the opportunity to develop military skills but also to contribute to the safety and protection of their countries.
“We are pleased that more women are signing up for training to become Caribbean Soldiers,” said Defense Caribbean.
Interested individuals can apply for the training again starting Tuesday. Applications for the Caribbean Military training can be submitted via the website werkenbijdefensie.nl/werken-als-caribische-militair.
